The Opportunity

A globally renowned international law firm are currently seeking a compliance and conflicts specialist to join their conflicts and compliance management division.

The role will blend three core layers of responsibility, which support the firm's internal and regulatory compliance obligations, conflicts review and management, as well as supporting on anti-money laundering matters.

The Role

You will be responsible for a varied and challenging portfolio of work, including compliance, commercial conflicts and anti-money laundering. For new clients and instructions, you will play a vital role in ensuring that commercial conflicts, money laundering risks and matters affected by sanctions are identified and escalated to protect the firm through:

  • Researching and identifying the organisational structures of new clients, their risk profile and their financial beneficiaries
  • Building excellent working relationships with the risk team and other key stakeholders to quickly and professionally manage conflicts and their resolution
  • Maintaining a strong and up to date technical knowledge of key regulations and legislation relating to your portfolio of work

Your work will also incorporate a substantial compliance element, including ongoing monitoring, training and engagement with the risk and sanctions Partners.

What You Will Bring

You will bring to bear impressive attention to detail, client management (internal) and strategic skills to a team that supports successful commercial legal teams. Your professionalism will be reflected in a strong communication style and the ability to adapt to new processes and systems with ease. Those with a keen understanding of legal conflicts of interest and the broader legal industry will have a keen advantage in this application process. A proactive and organised approach to project management is essential.
