Taylor Root are working with a global transport and logistics business on a vital role to contribute to the business' anti-bribery & corruption and anti-modern slavery capabilities.

Working directly for the Global Head of Compliance, this Senior Manager will play a critical role in reforming and implementing the compliance culture within the business and embedding excellence in controls.

The Role

As a Senior Compliance Manager, you will have a large influence on the direction of the business' compliance program, specifically in relation to Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) and Anti-Modern Slavery practices (AMS). Bringing substantial knowledge of global ABC and AMS laws, you will act as subject matter expert to the business, understanding the global requirements for the firm and translating them into action and change.

You will be responsible for managing a wide range of projects, training and a culture of excellence by raising the profile of risk and compliance internally, influencing key stakeholders and establishing proactive controls and procedures to continuously improve the business.

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered you will need a legal background. This is a role in which the compliance function take a proactive and wide lensed view of commercial activity, that encompasses legal risk.

You will demonstrate a global perspective and the ability to implement large scale compliance transformation across multiple regions. With a foot print in EMEA, the USA and Asia-Pacific, the tone for ABC and AMS will be set by global regulations and as such you should have an in depth knowledge of UK, European and US bribery and corruption laws.

This is a role in which key stakeholders from a range of backgrounds will have to be managed, therefore excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills will be vital for success. You should demonstrate:

  • A holistic approach to risk management, with a keen understanding of commercial decision making within a global business. You will be able to assess complex issues and provide advice that considers risk but also opportunity.
  • You will be resilient and a confident communicator, able to engage with international stakeholders to secure buy-in and confidence that will maximise adoption of processes and policies.
  • You will be self-motivated and organised, able to deliver at pace without compromising attention to detail.
  • You will have prior experience within a relevant industry. Transport and logistics would be highly desirable, however experience with businesses from sectors such as FMCG, manufacturing or natural resources are advantageous.
