We have a current opportunity for an Assistant Legal Counsel on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Hong Kong. For further information about this position please apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support to the Customer and International Business Development Department
  • Assist the Commingling Division on the drafting, reviewing and negotiation of commingling and simulcast transactions
  • Assist in the review and/or drafting of agreements/documents, marketing materials, tenders and betting rules
  • Assist in advising and giving legal opinions on in-house matters, including matters relating to wagering activities, customer servicing and marketing related legal issues, claim issues, complaints, dispute resolutions and litigation
  • Assist in the provision of practical solutions to matters that may arise from daily operations
  • Perform legal research and assist in the provision of legal updates
  • Support business-driven and strategic projects and initiatives

Requirements:

  • Holder of LLB (or equivalent) from any common law jurisdiction
  • Qualified lawyer (junior members of the profession welcome to apply)
  • Experience negotiating and drafting commercial contracts
  • Knowledge of racing and betting is an asset
  • Proactive, meticulous, flexible, and able to work under pressure
  • Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Good team-work spirit
